Abstract

New technology-based firms have been the object of extensive research in the more advanced Western countries, but little attention has been paid to this type of organisation in less advanced countries. This can be regarded as an indication of the lower relevance of the phenomenon in the latter, derived from the absence of favourable conditions for small technology-based firms’ formation and survival. Despite this, NTBFs have nevertheless been created in these environments, thus emerging as an important, and relatively neglected, object of research.KeywordsTechnological KnowledgeAdvanced CountryTechnological OpportunityTechnological CompetenceForeign SourceThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
