Abstract

The Drava Bridge is located in Croatia on the International Pan-European road corridor Vc, section Beli Manastir – Osijek. The overall Drava Bridge length is 2507m. The main bridge has 3 spans of 100m, 220m and 100m respectively, cable stayed on two “A” shaped concrete pylons with 20 double cables on each pylon. Main bridge superstructure is a composite deck which comprises steel box girder, 12m wide and 2.7m high with 8m long cantilevers on both sides and 300mm thick and 28.6m wide concrete deck slab on top. Total weight of the steel girder is around 4500 tons. 35 bridge segments are produced in workshop and assembled on approach bridge. Connected segments are incrementally launched over river. The creation of workshop documentation of the Drava Bridge steel structure using the Tekla Structures software is presented. Modelling process with advantages and challenges faced during detailing and drawings creation are keyed out. Steel assembly drawings were created from the 3D model and sent to the workshop.
