Abstract

This supplementary issue of the Journal of Psychoactive Drugs marks not only what is hoped to be an ongoing series of SARC proceedings but also the first step in the evolutionary process of developing a new substance abuse policy journal. Starting with the production of the SARC biannual proceedings, this new journal will evolve into a quarterly print publication. The traditional print format will later be supported by an on-line backup component that will include not only the SARC proceedings but pertinent materials aimed at providing background material for the development of substance abuse policy.
