Abstract
Last month, I ran out of space. So this month I'm finishing my Wetterling Act summary coverage. As discussed last month, Wetterling is also known formally as Section 170101 of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, 42 U.S.C. 14071. It is prominently mentioned in the last, and newest, of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act exceptions to written consent at 34 CFR §99.31 (a)(16). Since that law is the basis for colleges to legally disclose education records about registered sex offenders, it's important for us to understand what is in it.
