Abstract

The chapter illustrates the application of a school-based knowledge management (KM) system for enhancing the learning and teaching effectiveness of a secondary school in Hong Kong. The KM system consists of a knowledge-based repository and a digital archive that operates with tailor-made computer programs for knowledge storing and retrieval. The KM system enables teachers to implement assessments for learning and share knowledge among teachers. This chapter articulates how installing and applying such a KM system can develop Human Capital and Structural Capital. The critical organisational factors supporting this initiative will be reported.
