Abstract
. The aim of this study was to demonstrate a method of assembling a profile of residents in a special dementia hostel (SDH) in order to provide information on the characteristics of the residents, the purpose of the unit and its relationship to other residential facilities for people with dementia. The method consisted of gathering information on twelve residents from three sources - rating scales, behaviour mapping and interviews with relatives.
