Abstract

Using Richard Sennett’s work on craftsmanship, three locations of ministerial formation are examined: the local church, the training minister and the denominational church. From this examination, the article suggests that issues around congregational involvement, vulnerability and fallibility, and vocation require attention in the process of formation.
