Abstract

In this symposium we consider challenges to industrial agriculture and the corporate food regime that have the potential (and are beginning) to spur structural evolution towards a global food system that is less corporatized and more regional and sovereign. Papers range from a case study of a regional food bank in the US, to the role of co-operatives in transforming the industrial food system, to discursive claims and strategies in the industry-science relationship, to ideas for getting everyone to the table to seek widely supported solutions to the growing challenge of creating a just and sustainable global food system.
