Abstract

The development of the crack opening process and the dimensions of the open-crack zone are determined by the dynamics of the pressure variation in the injected fluid. Peaking regimes, corresponding to the unbounded growth of one of the characteristics of the process in a finite time, are of special practical interest. These regimes are examined within the framework of the nonlinear one-dimensional problem on the basis of a continuum model of flow through fractured porous media.
