Abstract

An analysis of CP-violating effects in ${e}^{+}$${e}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\ensuremath{\tau}}^{+}$${\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$ is outlined. Some tensor observables sensitive to CP-odd couplings arising from possible electric or weak dipole moments ${d}_{\ensuremath{\tau}}$,d${\ifmmode \tilde{}\else \~{}\fi{}}_{\ensuremath{\tau}}$ of the \ensuremath{\tau} are presented. For the case where both \ensuremath{\tau}'s decay via \ensuremath{\tau}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\pi}${\ensuremath{\nu}}_{\ensuremath{\tau}}$ we estimate the accuracies with which d${\ifmmode \tilde{}\else \~{}\fi{}}_{\ensuremath{\tau}}$ and ${d}_{\ensuremath{\tau}}$ can be measured at the Z resonance and at a \ensuremath{\tau}-charm or B factory, respectively.
