Abstract

Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is already everywhere due to many characteristics of SaaS bring value to enterprises. In this thesis, the features of adopting SaaS application versus onpremises software will be discussed. In addition, the uncertainty caused by COVID-19 also catalyze the market growth of SaaS application. There are four characteristics of SaaS reinforce the market growth is discussed in the thesis. In addition, the working style and life style changes a lot because of COVID-19. People spend more time at home results in the remote working and stay-at-home economy. Employees require business tools to help them have high working efficiency. Stay-at-home working style brings new requirement for enterprise to run new business model. This thesis has discussed some use scenarios for both style and conclude six SaaS application trends for the new reality. The business response to SaaS application in Taiwan market are collected by survey. The respondents provide the observations about business requirement and the priority which are expected to be enhanced by adopting software solutions. Top two ranked business requirement are broken down into stage of opportunity for SaaS providers. Even the market demand for SaaS solution is getting stronger, there are four main limitations of SaaS application and the limitation of this thesis are discussed. The conclusion about the next decade of SaaS market will also be provided.
