Abstract
The World Health Organization has declared COVID-19 a global emergency. It examines the impact of the pandemic on Sri Lanka’s economy and poverty. Information about COVID-!9 was gathered and analysed from national and international research initiatives, as well as news articles about COVID-19, which formed the basis of the paper’s content. It is likely that COVID-19 will have a short-to medium term impact on the Sri Lankan economy. COVID-19 and its impact on the Sri Lankan economy have been highlighted as a result of these pandemics occurring over time. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted major income-producing businesses in a number of ways. Overall, it shows that poverty is more like to increase.
