Abstract

Science teachers want students to think like scientists, investigate like scientists, and write like scientists. Writing has special prominence in the AP Physics 1 and 2 courses. Although it doesn’t describe a true writing workshop, this article presents a few basic principles for a classroom writing cycle that uses online tools so that students practice writing, get feedback, respond to the feedback, and revise their writing. The cycle reinforces the expectation that writing is an iterative process that benefits from feedback.
