Abstract

ABSTRACT The spread of Covid-19 was tracked in the United States, from January 21 until July 21, 2020, and daily observations were noted regarding people's leisure behaviours. It appeared people's leisure needs, during this period, fell in line with the four domains of human development: physical, cognitive, social, and emotional, with spirituality included as a dimension of wellness. The six-month observations reflected on how people filled their needs, through leisure activities, while sheltered in place and socially distanced. Four themes corresponding to the domains emerged from the observations. The future of the pandemic and its effect on our lives was discussed. It is inevitable that there will be a new normal, in leisure and society, for years to come.
