Abstract
Automation in agriculture is very much required in today's technological era. When it comes to automation in agriculture; coverage is a key component in determining the performance of the system which is being developed. In this paper an efficient system to perform coverage in agricultural fields is proposed. In addition, monitoring of farmlands remotely is becoming a need of the hour. A framework for Remote Farmland Monitoring and Control System (RFMCS) in agricultural farmlands is envisioned here. It includes a field monitoring system (FMS), communication system (CS), and a remote monitoring application system (RMAS). A combination of these systems paves way for both online and offline environment monitoring and transfer of sensor data to a remote user through an application interface. An android based application is proposed for monitoring the framework which is aimed for controlling local automated systems and long term environmental monitoring. These automated machineries require complex algorithms to monitor the entire farmland. Such an algorithm to perform coverage in an agricultural environment is proposed and evaluated in simulation.
