Abstract

5G Network is currently considered an emerging technology to enhance capacity and increase coverage. However, as the number of users’ increases, the network performance needs to be improved. This paper study the downlink coverage and intercellular handoff for 2-tier 5G Heterogeneous Network (5G HetNet) under cost deployment. Path loss model is suggested in both cases namely Line of Site (LOS) and Non Line of Site (NLOS) with different path loss exponents. Furthermore, we apply stochastic geometry to model our problem and evaluate network efficiency in term of coverage and handoff probability. According to proposed model, the expression of Coverage probability and Handoff probability are derived based on Signal to interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR). Then, we study cellular planning for 5G HetNet whose objective is to reduce the total cost investment.
