Abstract

This paper is concerned with the coverage area of the passive surveillance system which uses signal delays of digital terrestrial television broadcasting (DTTB). We have started the feasibility study of the multi-static primary surveillance radar (MSPSR) which is expected as the conventional primary surveillance radar alternative. A strong point of the MSPSR is to select some signal sources, such as DTTB, FM, 3G/LTE and so on. Among them, the DTTB is the most expected promising source because it is always present and has relatively high output powers. In this study, we proposed the passive surveillance system employing the DTTB signal delays. In this paper, the coverage area of the proposed system around Tokyo International Airport is discussed in comparison with the ADS-B data.
