Cover: Images of lunar soil grains (measuring 1.5 μm in size) before and after experiencing thermal shock to 1000 ºC, simulating a micrometeorite impact inside the transmission electron microscope using the Hitachi Blaze heating holder. The grain is shown in high‐angle annular dark‐field before (upper left) and after heating (upper right) as well as in secondary electron imaging before (lower left) and after (lower right).
