Abstract
ON THE COVER: Nereocystis luetkeana, seen here in Port Renfrew, British Columbia, is a canopy‐forming kelp that is common in the nearshore waters of the Northeast Pacific. It exhibits pronounced morphological plasticity across hydrodynamic gradients that allows it to minimize drag experienced in flow while maximizing light interception. Photo credit: L. Coleman image
