Abstract

Well-controlled polymerization of non-conjugated acetylenes is a challenging subject. In their Research Article (e202117234), Tsuyoshi Taniguchi, Katsuhiro Maeda et al. report that unique heptaaryl-1,3,5-hexatrienylrhodium(I) complexes induce living polymerization of non-conjugated acetylenes such as N-propargylamides. This method enables controlling the molecular weights of the resultant polymers and the synthesis of telechelic polymers and block copolymers based on poly(N-propargylamide)s.
