Abstract

Cover:The electrochemical reduction and re‐oxidation of α, β, and γ‐FeOOH was investigated to clarify the effect of the rust layer on the atmospheric corrosion of steel in a saline environment. By using α, β, and γ‐FeOOH films synthesized on gold electrodes, the reduction current was measured for a potential that simulated the corrosion potential in the wetting stage. The changes in the composition of these FeOOH films were analysed after the reduction and re‐oxidation.More detailed information can be found in: K. Sugae, T. Kamimura, R. Asakura, T. Doi, H.
