Abstract

Cover:High‐temperature, high‐pressure testing for high performance materials such as corrosion resistant alloys gains increasing importance due to higher corrosivity in oil and gas production, in chemical processing and arising demands in high‐pressure hydrogen testing. To follow this trend voestalpine BÖHLER Edelstahl GmbH & Co KG has invested in a new High Tech Autoclave Test Lab to be capable of performing high‐temperature, highpressure testing under severe conditions, including slow strain rate and constant load testing. Autoclave tests can be done at up to 170 bar total pressure with a maximum partial pressure of H2S of 50 bar and up to 205 °C. The laboratory was designed for high‐temperature, high‐pressure H2S testing for oil and gas applications and will in the future increasingly be used for high‐pressure hydrogen applications as well. The test procedures have been validated together with the corrosion group at Montanuniversitaet Leoben. The review article A. Galakhova, K. Prattes, G. Mori, High‐temperature, high‐pressure SCC testing of corrosion‐resistant alloys, is an output of this cooperation.More detailed information can be found in: Anastasiia Galakhova, Karl Prattes, Gregor Mori, High‐Temperature High‐Pressure SCC Testing of Corrosion‐Resistant Alloys, Materials and Corrosion 2021, 72, 1831.
