Abstract

Cover:A novel system for a safer and more economic electrochemical chloride extraction was developed and field tested. The heart of the system is a highly alkaline, cationic hydrogel. Its adhesion to silica surfaces, its conductivity, and the pH value allow for a fast and virtually complete chloride extraction at low voltages as shown on a set of car‐park columns.More detailed information can be found in:Andre Jung, Armin Faulhaber, Oliver Weichold, Alkaline hydrogels as ion‐conducting coupling material for electrochemical chloride extraction, Materials and Corrosion 2021, 72, 1448.
