Abstract

Elucidation of the morphology‐dependent electron transfer rate was empirically demonstrated by scanning electrochemical microscopy investigation of lithium peroxide species, an important intermediate in the lithium‐air battery cycles. This communication revealed distinct electron transfer coefficients for the toroidal and thin‐film lithium peroxidespecies. This discovery deepens the understanding of battery cycling mechanism and holds the key to unlocking the reversibility of lithium‐air batteries. image
