Abstract

AbstractThe cover picture shows the different NMR spectra of xenon atoms encapsulated in cryptophane‐A and C2‐symmetrical analogs. The high sensitivity of the xenon chemical shift to its environment allows the detection of small structural perturbations of the hosts. A slight modification of the internal volume of the cage compounds leads to an appreciable change of the 129Xe NMR chemical shifts. There exists a direct correlation between the stability constant Ka and the van der Waals volume of the cavity.
