AbstractThe cover picture, taken from the article by Kanamaru et al. (pp. 1116–1128), shows IgA immunohistochemical staining of a section of a mouse kidney displaying significant IgA desposition. Kanamura et al. study the role of FcαRI‐activation in glomerulonephritis and, in particular, in IgA nephropathy. The authors demonstrate that FcαRI through the FcRγ adaptor mediates disease progression by activating a cytokine‐chemokine cascade that leads to renal leukocyte recruitment and subsequent kidney deterioration
