Abstract

AbstractThe cover picture shows a specimen of Berberiis darwinii Hook gathered in Southern Chile, in the vicinity of Ciudad Orsono. One can also see a photo of W. E. Parham (1922−1976) who developed a new annulation process that has been applied for the total synthesis of Nuevamine, the first isoindolo[1,2‐a]isoquinolone known to occur in nature and that has been isolated from this plant. Details are discussed in the article by A. Couture et al. on p. 3437 ff.
