Abstract

Population growth and climate change have exerted unprecedented pressure on crop production, which is constantly subject to biotic and abiotic stresses such as heat, drought, nutrient deficiency, and pathogen infections. Carbon dots, i.e. carbon‐based nanoparticles (<50 nm) with rich surface functionalities and elemental doping flexibility, may provide a diverse toolbox for helping plants cope better with adverse growth conditions.image
