Abstract

On the cover: Grazing livestock in ryegrass pasture, Taranaki, New Zealand. Researchers in New Zealand set out to quantify the effect of bioavailable Cu on ammonia‐oxidizing bacteria and archaea, as well as nitrification rate in the context of research programs that are developing nitrification inhibitors for dairy pastoral systems. This research provides new insights into the relationship between Cu and ammonia nitrifiers in pastoral soils. See D.T. Matse et al., “Copper induces nitrification by ammonia‐oxidizing bacteria and archaea in pastoral soils,” https://doi.org/10.1002/jeq2.20440. Photo by Paramsothy Jeyakumar. image
