Abstract

Chromium based single-site catalysts allow the production of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene with very high productivities. The picture shows a donor-functionalised indenyl chromium catalyst in action where a strong electron-donating substituent leads to an increase in catalytic activity and co-monomer incorporation. The correlation between donor strength, electronic and catalytic properties was studied systematically. More information can be found in the Full Paper by M. Enders et al.
