Abstract

This multidisciplinary literature review traces the historical emergence of IV iodoxolones as a comprehensive catalogue of the plausible reaction mechanisms. The versatile mild oxidants are a key to unlock the green chemistry future, delivering up to quantitative yields in regioselective O-atom transfer or condensative dehydrogenation under mild reaction conditions at relatively low cost, free from heavy metal contamination or toxic waste. Learn or revisit how control of stoichiometry, temperature and solvent system enabled scientists to leverage chemoselective oxidations by unpacking the cornucopia of IV iodoxolone chemistry. More information can be found in the Review by Antony Chipman.
