Abstract

The Cover Feature illustrates how charge transfer reaction of C6H4+ with C3H4 isomers allows for structural evidence of the formation the ortho-benzyne distonic cation from various PAH precursors. The methodology can be generalized using neutral reaction partners with ionisation energies forming a chemical ruler to elucidate the ionic structure.
