Abstract

A photocatalytic one-pot cascade synthesis of secondary amine by the reaction between benzyl alcohol (BA) and nitrobenzene (NB) using LED and sunlight is shown on the cover image. The hand represents Bi2MoO6 with flower-like morphology. The photocatalytic reduction of NB takes place on one arm, while on another, photocatalytic oxidation of BA occurs. The reduction of NB produces aniline, while the oxidation of BA produces benzaldehyde. These products further condense to form imine at the junction of the folded hand. Finally, the imine is reduced over the surface of Pd NPs decorated Bi2MoO6 using molecular H2 to secondary amine as the final product.
