Abstract

Visible light-induced anticancer and antibacterial profiles of Co(II) curcumin complexes. This cover illustrates Co(II)-curcumin conjugates exhibiting remarkable visible light-triggered anticancer activity against breast cancer (MCF-7) cells by ROS-induced apoptosis and the fluorescent nature of curcumin assisting in cell imaging. Also, antibacterial activity against both gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) and gram-negative (Escherichia coli) bacterial strains through the activation of the Co(II)-curcumin conjugates at the targeted site by light exposure, is depicted here.
