Abstract

The Cover Feature illustrates the manifold and complex effects of multivalent ions on biological and soft matter systems. Besides specific binding modes and ion–ion correlations, multivalent ions control the assembly and phase behavior of systems ranging from proteins over nucleic acids to surfactants, motivating an interdisciplinary perspective. More information can be found in the Review by Olga Matsarskaia, Felix Roosen-Runge, and Frank Schreiber.
