Abstract

The cover feature shows the detection and visualization of G-quadruplex (GQ) structures specific to mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) using flavylium-methine fluorescent probe. The selective localization and binding of the probe to mtDNA-GQ leads to turn-on near infrared fluorescence response. The cellular distribution shows the organelle-specific accumulation of the probe within mitochondria. The probe displayed localization independent of mitochondrial membrane potential reiterating its utility in live or fixed cellular conditions. More information can be found in the Full Paper by T.
