Abstract

The Cover Feature shows a representation of the topic featured in this minireview, where the hydrogen bonds represent a powerful tool in chiral catalysis. Inspired by the mode of activation of enzymes, the assembly of catalytic species connected through multiple weak inter- or intramolecular interactions, using Lewis or Brønsted acids, has enhanced the ability of hydrogen bond-based catalysts such as (thio)ureas. In this field, we have pioneered three important examples using chiral thiourea and urea catalysts activated with gold or with external acids. More information can be found in the Minireview by M. C. Gimeno and R. P. Herrera. Kristin Baldeschwiler, Clker-Free-Vector-Images and aalmeidah-Photos of Pixabay are acknowledged by the authors for the background images.
