Abstract

Natural enemies, both insect predators and parasitoids, are an essential component of integrated pest management yet few studies estimate their impact on pests in a way that can be used by growers and managers. We highlight the research that needs to be done to properly identify the natural enemies of pests and their effects on abundance; the research uses approaches ranging from the latest molecular tools to time honoured exclusion experiments at a field level, as well as novel approaches relevant to the landscape scale (pages 1‐51).
