Abstract

Abstract A relativistic covariant equation, resembling the equal-time approximation, for a two-quark system is solved in configuration space. The interaction consists of a linear scalar confining interaction plus a Coulomb-like one-gluon exchange part. As an example, the properties of the π and ϱ mesons are studied in this model. In particular, the asymptotic behavior of the wave functions in the origin are determined and shown to lead to a large tail in the meson electromagnetic form factors for high photon momenta.
