Abstract

One way of assisting this process of development and socialization into the community of discourse is through observing and participating in the courts through collaborative arrangements. Collaboration between a law school and the courts in the area allows for graduated and incremental exposure to varied aspects of legal practice, which equates to a specific form of experiential learning. This process raises awareness of ‘professional norms’ and ‘brings students into the legal community of discourse and helps further student competence and expertise in the profession’
