Court Decisions in Matters of Religion and Belief in 2015–2018

Abstract

As a follow-up to a corresponding article in Kirche und Recht Volume 24 published in 2018 (229-249), the case law on "Church matters" is evaluated from "Entscheidungen in Kirchensachen seit 1946" (KirchE). The is analysis is based on the period from 2015 to mid-2018, i.e. including the last seven volumes published (volumes 65 to 71). The decisions are arranged thematically into the following categories: freedom of religion, service and labour law, taxes and contributions, building law and building encumbrances including monument protection and cemeteries, the state's duty to provide justice and legal recourse, religious childhood education, schools, asylum law, protection of Sundays and public holidays, Jewish religious communities and sundry items.
