Abstract

INTRODUCTION Quiet stance is a complicated motor act, requiring sophisticated sensorimotor integration to balance an artificial inverted pendulum with the ankle musculature [1]. To characterize the effects of stance pattern and the stationary finger contact upon soleus excitability and postural sway, this study was conducted to assess how soleus H reflex and postural sway were modulated for unilateral and bilateral legged-stances and touch vector of finger during unilateral stance.
