Abstract

Resonant modes for microstrip devices have been identified with simple temporal poles. Coupling coefficients for the resonant currents have been obtained. Hallen's integral equation (IE) has been solved to obtain resonant wavenumbers and current distributions. The Hallen IE provides stable, quickly convergent solutions. The frequency dependence of natural-mode currents excited by impressed radiation has been compared with direct frequency-domain solutions to the Hallen equation. >
