Abstract
1H NMR spectra of flowing high-pressure liquid chromatography (hplc) fractions of barbituric acids dissolved in hydrogen-chloroform were obtained. Two techniques have been used to prevent overflow in the computer linked with the Fourier transform NMR spectrometer: (1) extension of the computer word length from the standard 16 to 32 bits, and (2) selective presaturation of the solvent protons.
