Abstract
In this paper, the field-proven channel profile is proposed to evaluate the performance of on-channel repeater (OCR) in a single frequency network (SFN). Coupling loop interference (CLI) between transmitting and receiving antennas at the OCR must be suppressed to achieve OCR in an SFN for digital terrestrial broadcasting since the receive and transmit antenna in the relay station are electrically coupled. An important step toward to designing and installing an OCR station in an SFN is to measure and analyze the propagation characteristics of CLI. Comparison with measured path loss is shown to demonstrate the validity of the analytically developed pathloss model.
