Abstract

The charge of dots: A combination of fluorescence correlation spectroscopy and microchip electrophoresis has been used to determine the surface charge of different stabilizer-modified quantum dots (QDs) and to study their transport properties in electric fields (see graph; G(τ)=autocorrelation function). The surface charge of QDs was found to be closely associated with the type of stabilizer on the QD surface, the buffer pH value, and other factors. This technique is noninvasive, highly sensitive, effective, and versatile.
