Abstract

TheK-matrix interpretation of the Veneziano four-point formula is extended to a two-channel model of meson-meson scattering; in this framework the pion electromagnetic form factor is numerically computed from the unitarity equations. Various features of the model are discussed in detail: it is shown to reproduce quite well physical reality, even if some shortcomings cannot be avoided, which however do not affect considerably the predictions on the best known meson-meson processes. In this model’s framework a reformulation of Harari conjecture is also proposed, and arguments are presented to support it.
