Abstract
Sleep is essential for both cognition and physiological maintenance of healthy brain function, and disrupted sleep is a feature of many psychiatric disorders. During sleep, electrophysiological slow waves in neural activity contribute to memory consolidation and cognition. In addition, brain clearance of metabolic waste products is increased. We aimed to identify how macroscopic fluid flow changes during sleep.
