Abstract

A team from the Institute for Mathematical Modeling, Russian Ac. Sci. (IMM RAS) developed a radiative magnetohydrodynamic (RMHD) code magnetically accelerated radiative plasmas-lagrangian-eulerian (MARPLE).A flow of plasma is considered in one-fluid MHD approximation represented by the well-known Braginskii model. The MHD equations are written in a so-called 2.5-dimensional fashion. The new RMHD code is based on the unstructured grid technology. The versatility of unstructured grids makes MARPLE a convenient tool for investigations of plasma dynamics taking place in various pulsed-power facilities. The solution of the RMHD system in the MARPLE program complex is carried out by the use of unstructured triangular mesh. The technique of finite volumes is used for approximation of the governing system. The finite volumes are formed by modified Voronoi diagrams in the program.
