Abstract

Herein, the Helmholtz resonance modes design is developed obtaining Fano‐like interferences. The proposed design employs two vertically aligned Helmholtz resonators exciting two different orders of mode, which induce desired constructive or destructive interferences. The critical part of this design is the realization of a mode‐selective feature. The mode‐selective feature is achieved by adjusting the geometrical parameters of the two Helmholtz resonators. Meanwhile, it can be constructed by applying different mediums under the symmetrical geometric topology. From the numerical simulation results, desired modes can be excited at desired resonant frequencies achieving constructive or destructive interferences. These Fano‐like phenomena are also confirmed by experimental results.
